QUARRIES MONITORING
Quarrying and stoneworking have a strong impact on landscape and quality of the surrounding environment in terms of air and noise pollution, and groundwater contamination. Local administrations in charge of the control, have technical and practical problems in verifying the respect of concessions exposing the local population to risks on one side, and losing part of the profit on the other.
GEO-K develops automatic procedures for controlling quarries and stoneworking evolution based on periodical surveys by drone and/or airplane. The analysis takes advantages of the use of neural networks and aerial photogrammetry to detect changes and derive the quantity of material excavated or settled.
