LOGIN EARTH
Don’t know much about Geography? Login Earth will help you!
Using spectacular images of our planet taken from satellites, Login Earth is aiming to offer a new approach to physical and political geography by way of a game.
Look how it works! The Earth archive is full of beautiful images.
Login Earth is an educational game and lots of the images you will find in the game are provided by the European Space Agency and NASA.
You will be shown a hidden picture of a certain geographical area of Earth which will be gradually uncovered. Would you be alble to recognize where you are and provide the exact name of the region? As you play, each exact answer given will provide you with some interesting facts about that particular geographical area. With Login Earth we intend to help you learn how to observe them better.
Don’t think it is a piece of cake: you will need to practice hard though as some of satellite sensors don’t work properly and may be faulty or, in general, some radar images aren’t recognisable straight away.
Have a good trip and, if you manage to get to the end, you will be a special agent that Earth can trust!
Login Earth had been successfully presented at the ESA – European Space Agency event Earth Observation Open Science 2.0 on October 2015. In that context, ESA was organizing a community consultation meeting in ESRIN (Frascati, Italy) on 12-14 Oct 2015 to explore to the new challenges and opportunities for EO research created by the rapid advances in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
